Senior Vice President Alixandria Lapp joined Parven Pomper Strategies in January of 2008. Lapp brings a unique blend of top-level political experience, having been at the epicenter of the Democratic takeover of the House in 2006, and legislative experience, having spent nearly a decade on Capitol Hill as a top advisor to moderate House Democrats.

Prior to joining PPS, Alixandria Lapp served as Executive Director of NDN, a progressive think tank and advocacy organization. During her tenure, she worked extensively on the organization’s Globalization Initiative, immigration reform, and next-generation media and technology tools.

Lapp was at the epicenter of the Democratic takeover of the House in 2006 and has been a leading strategist for the Democratic Party on message and policy. Under Congressman Rahm Emanuel (D-IL), Lapp served as the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee’s Campaign Director. In this role, she oversaw the Committee’s incumbent protection program. Ali Lapp worked with vulnerable incumbents, Democratic House leadership, and interest groups to develop and implement comprehensive political strategies. This program successfully ensured the re-election of every House Democrat, a feat not achieved since 1922.

Lapp then served as Deputy Director of the Committee’s Independent Expenditure operation, which spent over $65 million in polling and paid political communication in over 50 congressional races to help the Democrats win back control of the House of Representatives. As Deputy Director, Ali Lapp supervised individual campaign strategies for each congressional district; oversaw polling, direct mail, radio advertising, and television advertising; and was responsible for the media buying strategy.

Lapp also ran the winning Washington state caucus campaign for Senator John Kerry’s presidential campaign in 2004 and has worked at two Democratic National Conventions.

Alixandria Lapp worked in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1997 – 2005. She has served as Communications Director, Policy Director, and Chief of Staff to Congressman Adam Smith (D-WA), current co-chair and PAC chair of the moderate New Democrat Coalition. In this role, she worked as a lead staffperson for the moderate Democrats in the House on issues including trade, health care, technology, and the economy.

Lapp, a Washington state native, graduated from the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, WA, and currently lives in Falls Church, VA with her husband John, stepson Truman and son Thomas.
