McMurtry has had a long and distinguished career inside and outside of Washington . His career has included serving as Staff Director and Chief Counsel for the U.S. Senate Committee on Finance under Senator Lloyd Bentsen (D-Texas), Senior Vice President for federal government relations at health care giant Aetna Inc and Vice President for Government and Community Affairs at Cornell University and the University of Pennsylvania . Lapp was at the epicenter of the Democratic takeover of the House in 2006 and has been a leading strategist for the Democratic Party on message and policy. She has spent the past year as Executive Director of the New Democrat Network, one of the most influential thought-leaders in Democratic politics. Previously she served as the DCCC Campaign Director under Cong. Both additions will provide strategic and policy advice to our entire client base, specifically in the areas of tax, health care, energy, financial services, intellectual property and international trade.
